2025 Power Rankings - Week 17

Rank (LW) Logo Team Record Rating Comment
1 (1) TB 10-6 99.16 The Blizzard defeated the Hooligans to earn a spot in the Root Beer Bowl. If they showed any disappointment from the previous week, it was not clear because it was a decisive victory. Tampa Bay scored 137 points with only Henderson failing to break 100 points because he got injured. Now the Blizzard need to break their 4-game bowl losing streak vs Fort Wayne.
2 (3) ATL 11-5 95.78 The Jesters did enough versus the Diamonds to earn a trip to the Fantasy Bowl. It was a total team effort because the highest scorer was Prescott with 25 points. Atlanta makes their first final in 9 years. They won championships in 2004, 2009, and 2013 but lost their last two Fantasy Bowls in 2015 and 2016. Atlanta has a chance to be the first owner with 4 championships.
3 (5) SD 8-8 93.11 The Surge went off against the Pistons for 169 points. That makes 298 points scored in the post season. It's quite the impressive number. San Diego set the tone when Puka Nacua scored 56 points on TNF to post the highest WR total this season. Now the Surge must end their bowl game losing streak. They have lost 7 in a row with their last bowl win coming in the 2017 Fantasy Bowl.
4 (6) ANA 12-4 90.56 The Commando Cats continued their historic season and defeated the Rattlesnakes to reach their first Fantasy Bowl. Since rejoining the league in 2023, they've won 12 games over the past two seasons. They've already equaled that mark with one very important game to go. This team is on fire right now scoring after their 172 point game. Can Anaheim actually win the trophy?
5 (2) SF 10-6 89.49 The Rattlesnakes were soundly defeated by the Commando Cats in a 71 point beating. Their end was signaled when Jordan Love left the game with a concussion and 3 points. Trey McBride has his worst week of the year with a 6 point total. But despite that poor effort, he has a chance to become the first player to go 17-0 in player stats. In historical context, George Kittle went 15-0 in 2024 and Eddie George went 15-1-1 in 1999.
6 (4) FW 10-6 88.94 The Pistons are the first #1 seed to lose their first two games of the post season. In 1997, Polley lost during their bye week of the first round and then again in the semifinals to technically be a part of this group. But no #1 team has lost all of their post season games. Currently, Fort Wayne is on a 5-game post season losing streak. They are 0-1 in the 5/6 bowl matchup.
7 (7) DEN 7-8 77.12 The Diamonds just didn't have it for one week. Denver failed to break 100 points versus Atlanta so they will play end up playing in the Bronze Bowl. The opportunity was there if they had started Brock Purdy at QB who tossed 5 TD's and would of taken them to the promised land. Denver is 1-2 in the Bronze Bowl and haven't finished 3rd since the 2001 season.
8 (8) SH 8-8 76.16 The Hooligans did something crazy and benched their top 3 draft picks. Justin Jefferson, Brock Bower, and Josh Allen were benched in favor of Jayden Reed, Coleston Loveland, and Drake Maye. Collectively, it turned out to be the correct decision (53 points vs 35 points), but only a QB change was needed. Sterling Heights needs to avoid having their first winless post season since 2019.
9 (9) LAB 7-9 72.44 The Bombers are owning the non-playoff side of the bracket. They are a perfect 2-0 and may have gotten back to their dominant post season ways. LA has a 24-9 record in the post season when they don't qualify for the playoffs. And anytime they avoid the Toilet Bowl in those season, they have a 22-4 mark in post season play. This will be their 9th trip to the 9/10 where they are 5-3.
10 (10) ND 3-13 67.77 The Nimrods scored 73 points in a futile effort to push their losing streak to 6 games. Remember, this is the same team that scored 208 points in week 5. North Dakota does not want to end the season on a long losing streak. In their first season of 2013, they went into the off season on a L4 and then dropped their next 11 in a row for 15 in a row. The Nimrods have won their only trip to the Toilet Bowl in 2014.
11 (11) DET 7-9 65.60 The Devils were at the low point of their season failing to break 100 in 5 straight games. Then they eruped for a season high 145 points versus Chicago to earn a trip to the Garbage Bowl. Herbert and Jeanty both had 40 points to turn everything around. Detroit has won the 9/10 game when it was the Scrub Bowl (1998), Jabroni Bowl (2007), and Garbage Bowl (2021).
12 (12) CTR 3-13 62.05 The Triumph have just one more game of this miserable season to endure. But at least there is a goal to end this season, become Toilet Bowl champions. That is one award that has avoided them for their entire career. They are 0-2 in the Toilet Bowl losing in 2003 and 2017. Chicago is looking to win back-to-back bowl games for the first time since the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
