2017 Power Rankings - Week 17

Rank (LW) Logo Team Record Rating Comment
1 (1) ANC 10-6 92.89 The run is over for Anchorage as their winning streak ended at 5 games. The Ice Knights had their lowest total of the season with 81 points in the semifinals. They return to the Bronze Bowl only for the second time after taking a 17-year hiatus which they happen to win over Toronto.
2 (4) SD 12-4 84.83 The Surge are back in the finals with another dominant win this week. Todd Gurley essentially carried the team with a 63 point day which ranks for the 5th highest total for a RB and highest for a post season. San Diego is 2-0 in the Fantasy Bowl with championships coming in 1998 and 2014.
3 (2) SF 9-7 84.55 The curse won. The streak continues. The wait is prolonged. Despite getting a TD from all their positional players except from Randall Cobb, they were never in the contest. San Fran is headed to the Crayola Bowl for the first time since 2012 where they are 2-2.
4 (3) LAB 9-7 84.35 The Bombers are in the finals? Yes, the Bombers are in the finals! It only took 11 years before this franchise finally made it to the finals. How will it go? History suggests that the #3 seed is 4-4 in the finals. 9 out of the first 10 championships were won by teams making their finals debut.
5 (5) ND 8-8 80.69 The Nimrods won to clinch a spot in the newly named IBC Rootbeer Bowl. They have not won the 5th place game and are 0-1 in it. North Dakota is 2-2 in bowl games and have alternated years winning and losing. If the pattern holds true, they are destined to lose this year.
6 (6) TB 10-6 74.25 The Blizzard are headed back to the 5th place bowl which has been renamed the IBC Root Beer Bowl. Tampa Bay has won their last 4 bowl games and another win would mean they would back to .500 for the season finale. Also, another victory would give them 5 of their last 6 post season with 2 wins.
7 (8) SH 8-8 69.04 The Hooligans will be playing in the Overrated Bowl for the third time. They have both and won lost in the bowl game. For the past 6 years, Sterling Heights/Indianapolis has won in the odd years and lost in the even years. That clearly means they will be win this year but they haven't won a top four bowl game since 2011 in the Fantasy Bowl.
8 (7) DET 7-9 66.77 The Devils kept their post season winning streak alive, making it 6 in a row. They could finish their 4th undefeated post season with a win. Only once before from 2002 to 2004, Detroit has strung together 3 bowl game victories. The Devils are 1-2 in the former Jabroni Bowl.
9 (10) DEN 7-9 59.66 The Diamonds are in jeopardy of getting swept this post season. They have two winless post post seasons, in 2006 and 2016. Denver has not won a post season game since week 15 of 2015, where they scored 182 points. Denver currently has a 7-game post season losing streak and has not won a bowl game since 2012.
10 (9) ATL 6-10 56.83 The Jesters are headed to the Toilet Bowl for the second time ever where they won their only time there in 2006 vs. Detroit. Atlanta has never finished a season in last place nor lost 3 straight bowl games. They enter this year riding a two game bowl losing streak where they are still 13-4.
11 (11) FW 7-9 56.83 The Pistons avoided the Toilet Bowl and will make their 4th appearance in the newly name Garbage Bowl. Before last year's Toilet Bowl victory, Fort Wayne lost 5 straight bowl games. A loss this year would give them their 8th season of at least 10 losses in the last 11 years.
12 (12) CHI 3-13 52.24 The Triumph lost again for the 5th straight time which ties the league high for the year. Chicago has not faired well when it comes to bowl games when they miss the playoffs, they are 0-3. Their next opponent is Atlanta who they are 0-1 against in bowl games and have already lost to in week 15.
